This morning it came to my attention and horror that Patrick Drum, the confessed double murderer of Gary Blanton and Jerry Ray due to their status as sex offenders, has struck again. This time, his victim was a 19-year-old man serving time for a "failure to register as a sex offender" charge. The victim has been a registered sex offender since the age of 13. Read the story here.
Mr. Drum has now harmed three innocent families. The tool that made this possible is the sex offender registry. Not far behind is the public support of Mr. Drum's actions.
Anyone who is or loves a sex offender - or simply values human rights - is encouraged to PLEASE sign our letter, addressed to the ACLU of Washington and asking them to get involved in this case. This is not only so that the families of Gary, Jerry and Mr. Drum's most recent victim may receive justice for their loved ones. This is for the safety and well-being of everyone on the registry and their families.

There needs to be justice for everybody. This vigilantism needs to stop now.

My boyfriend, was convicted for a sex crime, while in active Alcholisim.
He served his time. Got the treatment. Still is sober; years later.
He is not a threat to anyone.
How can we REALLY deside who's a threat and who's not; by something they MIGHT do.
Not everything is black and white. When we make it so, enevtibaly people fall in the cracks; mangled.
We don't list theifs? Or people fiirerd Etc.
This man has made restitution and rehabilitation.
We were going to have a baby and be married. He couldn't stand the fact of inflicting any vigilantism or bullying, towards his new family.
Now; obviously everything has mitigating circumstances.
This circumstance? The American Family; that wasn't.
Has anyone been protected from him?! He should be from us..

DeleteI have been out of prison back in 2001. Given a number 3 rating. My mother and dad are up in age and I must take care of their matters. Now they wish to move, but becouse of me no other home will take them. It is hard enough fore me to move. But not my parents as well. Cal
